The Netherlands has one of the most mature wood-burning retail markets in Europe: bagged birch, ash and oak on garden-centre shelves, briquette bundles at fuel stations, and merchant yards supplying private households through the September–March season.

Freight options into the Netherlands

Road freight is faster and simpler for buyers away from the coast. Two to three days from loading in Latvia to your gate in Utrecht, Eindhoven or Groningen.

Product mix for Dutch buyers

Birch is the year-round volume driver. Ash sells well as a mid-tier all-rounder. Oak fills the premium shelf. Alder is a good add-on for barbecue and sauna specialists.

Wood briquettes (RUF, Nestro, Pini-Kay) are growing fast in Dutch retail — clean, compact and easy to store, they convert well in urban households.

Kindling in 3L, 5L and 10L bags rounds out the fireside offer and drives repeat visits.

Paperwork and compliance

Every load ships with commercial invoice, packing list, phytosanitary certificate where required, and FSC/PEFC chain-of-custody references. Sub-20% moisture certificates are standard. Intra-EU B2B reverse-charge VAT applies with a valid Dutch VAT number.
